Recruiters receive so many resumes and they do not have enough time to spend a lot on each of them. Most of the time they are in a hurry to close a position. So what should be done to capture Recruiter’s attention at the first glance when they look at your resume?!

There are 3 types of resume:
1. Chronological CV
This is the most common type of resume. In this type of resume, you will mention your education, work history sorted by date in order of most recent date first.
2. Functional or Skills-Based CV
This type of resume mostly focuses on your skills. Your skills should be listed from more important ones to less.
3. Combination CV
It is including of Chronological and Skills-Based types. This type of the resume would be useful for the people who want to change his work and he has some relevant skills for the new field.


Here are some ideas to have a great common resume(Chronological CV):

1 Information Section:
This is the part of the resume at the top(left align or center align)
It should including of name and family name, Email, tell, address.
You can add your LinkedIn URL too.

2 Summary Statement/ Qualification Summary/Competencies:
This part is summarized critical information.
In order to have good qualification summary, you need to pay attention to the things which mentioned in the job posting and try to use the key phrases, words, and all the values which are fit to that job posting.
For example, if the position needs to work in a team, it is good to write:
“Excellent team player”

3 Objective:
This is very effective part of the resume.
Indicate how you can contribute to the reader’s requirements. Highlight your key strength and weakness which are fit for the job.

4 Education:
In this part, you can specify your education level. If you omit this part the employer will not go through any further consideration of your resume.
• List your education in reverse chronological order
• Make separate each type of your course
• You can use parentheses for the rest of your information
• You can highlight format for your long-term education


5 Work Experience/Word History/Employment Experience/ Employment History:
This part needs the relevant points to mention. You should mention all of your experience that you paid before for that. It should be including of:
• Full-Time work
• Part-Time work
• Self-employment
• Internships
• A project which you were a part of

And Here are these things which are mandatory to mention:
• Organization or company’s name
• City or state of the that mentioned organization or company
• Title which you held
• Employment time periods
• List of your responsibilities


6 Achievement:
Prepare a list of your accomplishments, which mean how did you contribute to your previous position(s) or name your top contributions

- Use your particular skills
- Use your Particular activity
- Get the quantifiable result or benefits
For example:
Made a complicated inventory program for my company.
Saved the company time and money.
Wrote a complex inventory application, saving time and money.


Some Notes:

- Do not make your resume too long. It is better to have one-page resume.
- Make a separate resume for each job posting.
- Avoid grammatical errors or spelling.
- Follow the parallel structure in your resume (means each part of your resume should have the same grammatical structure of its related title).

- Use the proper keywords which focus on job posting and match with the job description
- Avoid entering too many tab stops which make the reader go back and forth and back and forth again.(in information part)
- Sans Serifs and Arial are the most common fonts for the resume.
- Avoid having a long and complicated objective
- Do not use too many italic and bold format in Education part
- Do not bring volunteer jobs or any unpaid job in your work experience part of your resume
- Use the ‘Relevant Experience’ or ‘Other Experience’ Title for your unpaid experience
- Try to summarize what you have done in your ‘work experience’ part in case of having some descriptions
- Do not use phrases like “responsible for”. It is better to use action verbs like resolved customer problems as part of the customer support team.
- Avoid bringing some personal stuff in your resume (marital status, your hobbies, and so on)
- Do not use personal pronouns(I, me, …) in your resume
- Avoid using the present tense in describing your previous job experience.
- Mention your proper email address. For example, it is not good to have an email address like "cute_1967@gmail.com", use the meaningful one.
- Do not bring some obvious word like phone, address, …


- You should mention your desired salary in your resume
- It does not need to mention the reason of leaving your previous job
- Do not mention your previous short term position
- Send your resume in PDF format so you can be sure that recruiters will see your resume with the same formatting as you
- Be careful about the file name of your resume(FirstName_Lastname_Resume.pdf)
- Make your resume organized(like making each of your job title in bold format)
- Avoid bringing your picture in your resume
