1. Please explain what is a follow-up note. Give a definition and answer the followings: - to who? - when? - what about? - why?

The definition of a follow-up note is the behavior of follow up for the event or action that it is not completed, it can help to increase or improve the effect for the event or action to achieve the goal.

The follow-up note usually be utilized after the job interview, so the content of follow-up note will include 4 parts to write as followings:

To who
To who is to the interviewer who made an interview with you. If the interview was to have 2 or 3 interviewers and you have their contact email address or contact details, it is better to send the follow-up note to each interviewer to take a deep impression for the interview.

When
It is better to write the follow-up note after the interview within 1 or 2 days.
Also, it need to write another follow-up note for the interview decision within 1 or 2 weeks after the interview.

What about
To appreciate the interview arranged and spend the time for the interview, also express the feeling, what you can contribute if you become a member of employee and remind the interviewer that you await the decision and let the interviewer know that you are ready to serve the company.

Why
One job will have many interviewees to have an interview, so a follow-up note will take another chance to show who you are and what value you have to deepen the impression to the interviewer.

So, using the follow-up note properly will be very important and is a significant help. At present, except for the interview, the follow-up note is used increasingly to other events or action due to the follow-up is an effective manner to follow the things and get a progress. Therefore, follow-up note is utilized widely and quickly.

In order to make yourself specific or unique between so many people who go for the job interview or participate in an event, conference, seminar, or workshop, you need to send a perfect follow up email to the people who you have met during an interview or event. By this way, you could still have control over their decision whether they choose you or not. That is why preparing a professional follow up email determines as a crucial step of the job or interview.


What about:
Although follow-up letter usually uses after having a job interview but you can send a follow-up letter to achieve some other issues. That is why you need to define your objectives before writing a follow-up letter. There are four types of the objective for the follow-up letter:
1.    Need Some Information
If you need to know about the result of your job interview or need to know the current status of the deal, or asking about some information.

2.    Meeting Request
You need to have a meeting with someone, give a pitch, or getting some feedbacks.

3.    Catch up
If you want to share your accomplishment with someone that you have not seen him for a while

4.    Recap crucial points
In order to get some decision which made at a conference, workshop, event or seminar

5.    Benefit of products or services
In order the repeating a useful points of using product or services or offer better service or product to the customer

6.    Reminding letter
For an upcoming event or meeting

Here is the structure of follow-up letter which sends after a job interview:
You should highlight the best parts of your conversation during the interview and remind that why you are perfect for that position. An ideal follow-up email possesses 6 crucial traits:
•    Use professional tone in greeting
For example when you do not know if a woman married or not it is good to use Ms.

•    Get the attention by your professional opening paragraph.
Do not just appreciate for the interview; you can appreciate for their warm welcome or having the relaxed environment. That makes the reader, eager to continue reading.

•    Be careful about the words which you use in your email
Do not use slang and try to write the formal letter.

A follow-up note is a thank you email that you send to an employer following an interview one or two days after this interview to reassure the employer about your motivation for the job.
A good thank you email is much more like a sales letter, you need to differentiate yourself and not being too vague but tell the employe concretely what you plan to succeed in this company. So after saying you love the job, you tell the employer If I get hired here is what I am going to do in the next 6 months. I will do A, B, C. You need to show your passion for this position and be very concrete about it.
